Welcome to ESOF!

Today marks the start of the 2008 Euroscience Open Forum (ESOF) Barcelona, Spain. The event brings together scientists, policymakers, journalists and others from Europe and the rest of the world for an open discussion on science. ESOF presents and profiles Europe’s leading research trends in the sciences, humanities and social sciences and offers a platform to discuss the future of research and innovation in , and influenced by, Europe.

SciDev.Net’s China and South Asia regional coordinators, Hepeng Jia and T. V. Padma, are in Barcelona taking in the sun, sights and, of course, the science. So keep checking this blog for the latest ESOF news and thoughts from the developing world’s perspective.
